Between Worlds
A Space for Recalibration and Remembering
For Humanitarians and Changemakers
March 31 – April 5, 2026 | Near Burgau, Portugal
“You hold the world together. This is where you let go,
and remember who you are.”
In a time when many who work in humanitarian aid, social justice, crisis response, and frontline service are quietly burning out,
losing funding, or questioning what’s next — this retreat offers a much needed pause.
Between Worlds is a five-day space of recalibration and remembering. Nestled between ocean and hills in Southern Portugal,
this is a sanctuary for those who have held others through crisis and now need holding themselves.
This retreat is for humanitarians, aid workers, NGO staff, social workers, therapists, and activists navigating uncertainty, fatigue, grief,
or transition. Whether you’re still in the field, recently left, or standing at a threshold, YOU are welcome here.
Through nervous system education, somatic practices, breathwork, movement, silence, sharing, and (optionally) plant medicine,
you'll reconnect with your body’s wisdom, process what's been unspoken, and reclaim the clarity that can only arise from within.
This is not about fixing you.
This is about resourcing you.
So you can remember your direction, your depth, your joy, and your power.
A threshold.
A remembering. A return.
You’ve walked between worlds: the visible and the invisible, the pressure and the presence.
You’ve offered your energy, your heart, your time to missions greater than yourself.
You’ve held the weight of the world’s pain, often without the space to feel your own.
Whether you're still in the field, standing at a crossroads, or quietly navigating the aftermath,
this is your invitation to pause.
To exhale.
To come home to yourself.
This retreat was born from the deep knowing that those who hold the world together also need holding.
It is a space to recalibrate your nervous system, reconnect with your inner compass, and gather tools and clarity for whatever comes next.
Together, we’ll explore science-rooted somatic practices, breathwork, movement, and restorative stillness alongside ancient, mystical pathways that awaken the body's wisdom and open the door to intuition, clarity, and joy.
You do not have to figure it all out.
You only have to come.
The rest will unfold.

Ancient technologies.
Modern nervous systems. A return to inner knowing.
This retreat is rooted in tools that are both time-tested and trauma-informed,
designed to recalibrate your nervous system, restore your vitality, and create space for deep, embodied clarity.
It offers a sacred pause from the turbulence of life.
A space to rest, reconnect, and remember.
Through powerful somatic and energetic practices you will access the kind of knowing that doesn’t come from overthinking,
but from the body’s wisdom;
a gnosis that brings insight, direction, and renewal.
You’ll be guided through a carefully curated blend of:
BODYWORK & FASCIA RELEASE
You will be taught practical self-release techniques to support your ongoing healing and nervous system regulation. Additionally, I will integrate gentle bodywork throughout key sessions such as sound baths and breathwork, enhancing your embodied experience and deepening relaxation.
Because fascia is intimately connected with the nervous system—both storing tension and communicating signals, working with the fascia helps calm, regulate, and reset your nervous system for greater ease and presence.
For those who wish to go deeper, limited personalized hands-on bodywork sessions blended with somatic inquiry will be available as optional add-ons. These sessions work with fascia, energetic pathways, and the nervous system to invite profound integration and surrender.
NATURE, STILLNESS & INTEGRATION
Long before modern science mapped the nervous system, yogis uncovered powerful technologies to regulate the body, mind, and subtle energy. Through practices like Kundalini Yoga and Yin Yoga, we engage both dynamic activation and deep surrender, supporting energetic flow, nervous system balance, and cellular healing.
These ancient yogic sciences work holistically with breath, movement, posture, sound, and stillness, clearing energy blockages, strengthening the nervous and endocrine systems. We will release tension held in the fascia, the body’s connective tissue network that plays a crucial role in our physical and energetic wellbeing.
By honoring the fascia as a living web of intelligence intertwined with our energy body, this retreat supports you in attuning to higher frequencies such as joy, peace, harmony, love, and success.
Activating and balancing your energetic and physical body through the awakening kriyas of Kundalini and the receptive depths of Yin Yoga, these practices offer a potent pathway from exhaustion and overwhelm toward presence, resilience, and alignment.
Movement
In this retreat, you’ll be gently guided into the subtle language of your body; the place where deep memory, wisdom, and stuckness often reside. Through trauma-informed focalizing and somatic tracking, both in group settings and in compassionate 1:1 sessions, you will learn to listen deeply to your nervous system at your own pace, without judgment or shame.
I will be alongside you as a steady witness and guide, supporting you to access your body’s innate source energy, a vital wellspring often blocked by unresolved trauma, conditioned patterns, and barriers to intimacy. This process invites you to uncover what wants your attention, helping you release old tensions and reconnect with your own inner guidance.
Together, we create a safe, nurturing container where your body’s wisdom can emerge, bringing clarity, healing, and renewed capacity to meet life with presence and ease.
Somatic Inquiry & FoCALISING
From slow, intuitive sequences to rhythmic shaking and dance, movement will support your body in unwinding held tension and reorganizing energy. By gently mobilizing the fascia — the connective tissue that surrounds muscles and organs — we help restore fluidity and ease throughout your entire system.
When your body feels more connected, supple, and able to glide freely, it naturally invites the mind to soften and let go. Movement becomes medicine: a direct pathway to presence, aliveness, and profound release.
BREATH
Breath is life force, the subtle energy that animates us and connects the inner world with the outer. It will be a central thread running through every part of our retreat from yoga to bodywork to dedicated breathwork sessions. Together, we will renew your relationship with your breath, awakening a lived experience of its power as a medicine for body, mind, and spirit.
Breath serves as a bridge between the unconscious and conscious, guiding us into deeper presence and emotional release.
The land itself becomes a vital part of our container. Time spent in nature — through gentle hikes, sea immersions, and intentional moments of stillness — is not a break from the work, but the work itself. Immersed in the rhythms of the earth and water, you’ll find space to digest, reflect, and simply be with whatever is unfolding within and around you.
These moments of integration allow the nervous system to settle and the insights gained through practice to deepen. Nourishing, wholesome food will support your body’s restoration and vitality, grounding you in the fullness of presence and care.

Why I am hosting this retreat:
This retreat is a deeply personal offering.
I was born during the war in Bosnia. From a very young age, I was shaped by the aftermath of conflict, by the resilience of people rebuilding their lives, by the quiet grief that lives in families, and by the complexity of healing what has been torn apart. Witnessing the slow, often painful recovery of my home country, and the challenges faced by refugees and displaced communities, I made it my life’s mission to support others in similar situations.
That path led me into a career in international development and humanitarian aid. I worked in places that needed care, structure, and advocacy. I was proud of the work, but over time it cost me more than I realized. Like many working in service, I became disconnected from myself while trying to support everyone else. Eventually, I hit burnout. The kind that doesn’t go away with rest. The kind that forces you to look at how you’re living — and why.
Stepping away wasn’t easy, but it was necessary. What followed was a slow, tender return to my own body and truth.
I began studying somatic practices, trauma work, fascia and nervous system care, breath, and subtle energy. I realized I didn’t just want to help people rebuild systems, I wanted to support people in coming home to themselves.
This retreat is part of that offering. A space that holds the complexity and beauty of being human. A place for those who carry a lot to be carried for a while. To rest, to listen, to reconnect. To remember their inner resources, and to release what no longer fits.
I don’t offer this from a mountaintop. I offer it from experience. From having unraveled and reassembled. From having lived through systems breaking down, and seeing how healing always starts inside.
